Virgin America – Meet Las Vegas

It seems like a match made in Heaven. A brash young airline co-run by a brash middle-aged billionaire…and Las Vegas, a city that loves brashness and billionaires of all ages.

Well, the two finally got together yesterday, as Virgin America started service to Sin City. The send-off had all the markings of a Branson media blitz. Carmen Electra was there to spice things up, and Branson even took a shot at a rival airline Southwest by inviting Kyla Ebbert of “not dressed appropriately for Southwest’s standards so they threw her off the plane” fame.

Once in Vegas, Penn and Teller were set to join the party, and Branson was set to rappel down the Palm’s Casino Fantasy Tower.

Virgin America is making waves in the media and with customers. Two things that have led the company to predict that they will see profits earlier than they originally believed.
