Ever wonder what the world’s Northern-most and Southern-most commercial airports are? Of course you have! And, in case Alex Trebek ever asks you to name them, say the following in the form of a question: 1. Northern-most: Longyearbyen, Norway 2. Southern-most: Ushuaia, Argentina Yes, yes, we KNOW there’s an airport on Antarctica, but we can’t find any regularly scheduled flights there. So there. Info courtesy FareCompare.com. |

Ushuaia is not part of the Islas Malvinas, which is the Argentine name for the Falkland Islands. It’s on the southern coast of Tierra del Fuego island, at the southern tip of South America. The Falklands do have an airport, but there are several other commercial airports in Argentina and Chile that are further south.
If you’re trying to find Longyearbyen on a map, it’s not part of mainland Norway. It’s on the Spitsbergen (Svalbard) archipelago, which is a few hundred miles north of Norway in the Artic Ocean.

Rick,
Yous statement is incorrect. Usuahia is not in the Islas Malvinas (Falklands). The airport of Islas Malvinas is the Port Stanley Airport (PSY), located at 5141S - 5746″W (thus Northern of Usuahia. Usuahia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego Province (Argentina. It’s located over the Beagle Channel. However, you got right the geographic coordenates, at Latitude:-54,82Longitude:-68,32
