The DOT has made its report, and it turns out that 2007 was one of the worst years for air travel in the history of air travel. Delays were up, more baggage was mishandled, and more people complained about the airlines to the powers-that-be than in 2006. Keep reading for a glimpse at some of the numbers… |
More than twice as many people were angry enough with the airlines to register complaints than they were last year:
“…consumers filed 13,168 complaints about airline service with the Department, 58.2 percent more than the 8,325 filed in 2006.” (from BTS)
I have to believe that the dismal 2006 numbers coupled with the even more dismal 2007 numbers led more people to finally voice their opinion. Keep the phone lines opened Department of Transportation, because 2008 is just getting going.
Read “Airlines: 2006 was Bad. 2007 was Worse.” for all the details.
