And some of us want to get married. Just be careful if you go to Vegas. The LA Times sez wedding chapel owners hire guys who hang around the marriage license bureau, waiting to strong-arm you into saying your vows at their particular temple of love.

So whatta ya do? Click “more” and find out!

Shameless? That doesn’t begin to describe our pal Santa. But hey! He’s having fun, we’re having fun watching him. Win-win, no?

Tired of all the joy and merriment of the holiday season? Then you need … Grumpy Santa!

Yeah, yeah, we heard about the 7,269 Santas who gathered in Las Vegas; they were trying to show up Liverpool, which had held the record for “most-Santas-gathered-in-one-place”.

But while they were fooling around in that boring little town, FareCompare’s “Grumpy Santa” was flying to swinging & sophisticated hot-spots like Little Rock; and we’ve got the video to prove it.

Take a look. Read his blog. Share Grumpy Santa’s Excellent Adventure.

Tired of all the joy and merriment of the holiday season? Then you need…Grumpy Santa!

Okay, guess I better come clean, it’s not really Santa…it’s Mike, one of the writers of this illustrious air travel blog. And Mike got suckered into…I mean, Mike happily volunteered for this duty, which will have him flying to the 48-contiguous states, in just 12-days, starting tomorrow!!!! (FareCompare is doing this…part shameless self-promotion, part highlighting air travel woes…and good stuff, too). Why do we call him “Grumpy”? Cuz he will be by the time this is over!!!

Meantime, watch Grumpy Santa blog! Watch Grumpy Santa on video! Check out Grumpy Santa’s exclusive interview with Chris Elliott, and Read ALL about his BIG ADVENTURE right here! You will be glad you did!

Holy Martha Stewart

This is exactly the kind of thing Martha would pop her glue-gun over, but, don’t laugh…it works.

Here’s the deal: gotta fly in December? And there’s a million things at home to do? Take it with you. Not the turkey you have to cook but, how about Christmas cards?

Bring your cards, stamps, a list of addresses, and do em up while waiting for your flight (or while sitting out delays); I’ve done it. I’ve also brought wrapping paper and tape to do up those presents you have to leave unwrapped for our friends at TSA, but you may not want to go that far. But cards! Lists of things to buy! Do this work.

It passes the time, and gives one that Martha-like feeling of accomplishment. Enough said.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Time to feast on the ceremonial bird and drift off to sleep in the middle of the day. Ahhh, the holiday season.

If you’re traveling over the next few days, it could be a little crazy out there. So be careful and don’t let the security lines get you down.

Have a great holiday!

Drudge Horror Headline: “Travel Nightmare to Spoil the Turkey”

Oh, that Matt. What, you’re Stephen King now? Always trying to get us riled up with something (and it works; we read drudgereport.com religiously).

And, yes, he’s right, the weather for Thanksgiving travel is not looking so hot in certain parts of the country but them’s the breaks.

If you had done everything my boss over at FareCompare has been telling you to do for the past 6-months, you wouldn’t have any worries. Well, you wouldn’t have so many. Besides, Mr. Drudge…turkey doesn’t spoil that quickly.

Folks show up late, a day, couple days, big deal. Leftovers. Mmmm.

For shame! But it’s not too late to save money…IF you buy your tickets before Nov. 7. That’s assuming you want to fly in on the Wednesday before. If you want to get there Tuesday, well, YOU do the math. I’m no rocket scientist.

And, if you want a good read, go to the boss’ blog, RickSeany.com; he’s got a great post called, the “Top 5 List for Turkey Day Procrastinators”. Read it. Learn from it. You don’t want your Mom mad at you for missing Thanksgiving, do you?

Ah, it’s not yet Halloween and already the Chipmunks’ Christmas Song is getting stuck in my head. While I may not be ready to head up to Target and start purchasing Christmas decorations, I do know that it’s time (past time, really) to buy plane tickets for the winter holidays.

Rick Seaney (CEO of FareCompare and our boss) was part of a holiday travel piece in the Wall Street Journal’s The Middle Seat column this week. If you haven’t bought your tickets for the holidays yet or if you’re looking for holiday travel tips, make sure to check out Scott McCartney’s Cheap Holiday Fares?
