Fortunately for this fellow, everyone around him saw what was happening and couldn’t believe it – and acting as a group, met with an airline rep to defend this guy, once their Sacramento to Dallas flight landed. Meanwhile, the flight attendant tried to get the O.J. fellow in big trouble, but the other passengers were having none of that.

Funny how some of the comments I’ve seen say, oh, don’t pick on flight attendants – maybe this woman was just having a very bad day. Well, apparently. But I don’t think anyone is picking on any group – including flight attendants – it just sounds like this woman is nuts.

Plenty of people out there are having bad days – plenty of people out there have seen their salaries chopped – their jobs disappear – plenty. But they don’t behave like this. This — this is inexcusable.

The searchers did not say if the pilots were still in this wreckage, but apparently their families have been notified, so at least they know – cold comfort that that may be.

Actually, the divers were looking for a different aircraft altogether – a WWII plane that went down in 1944.

But apparently it’s not surprising that they bumped into another missing plane; officials say there are about 2,500 aviation crash sites in and around California – many of them still waiting to be discovered.

Especially since the story seems to keep changing. First, Sanford is hiking on the Appalachian Trail, and then he’s at Atlanta’s airport (according to a newshound over at Greenville’s WYFF News 4).

My theory: The governor was at Hartsfield-Jackson, because he found a great deal from FareCompare via Twitter – by following tweets from his home airport, @flyfromATL – and you can do the same, no matter where your airport is, by signing up here.

I’m sure that’s what happened – goodness knows it beats Mrs. Sanford’s statement, that the guv “was writing something and wanted some space to get away from the kids.” Ahem. Some think it’s a hoax.

Is it possible to ship yourself by cargo? Apparently so – in 2003, a 25-year old Bronx man shipped himself from Newark to Dallas – because he was looking for a cheap way to visit his parents.

Here’s a detective story:

First the background: 60 years ago, a chartered Northwest Airlines plane left China and crashed into a mountain side in Alaska — and was never heard from again.

Well, that’s not quite true; back in 1999, a couple of Northwest pilots were intrigued by the story — oh, did I mention this?

The plane was thought to be carrying a load of gold.

Anyway, these modern day pilots decided to see if they could find the wreckage. They did find it. They didn’t find any gold, but they did find a mummified arm. It took 9-years of sleuthing, but experts eventually identified its owner — a 36 year old merchant marine named Francis Joseph Van Zandt. He and some of his fellow merchant marines had just delivered an oil tanker to Shanghai, and it was thought to have been paid for in gold.

If it was — the gold is still out there — somewhere. Any takers?
